Canada Announces New pilot Programs to Support Caregivers and Nanny to make Easy PR For Nanny/ Caregivers
As of June, 2024, 1. The new pilot programs in Canada offer a streamlined pathway for home care workers to obtain permanent residence upon arrival, enhancing their employment opportunities in the home care sector.
2. Eligible candidates will have the flexibility to work with organizations that provide temporary or part-time care for individuals who are semi-independent or recovering from health issues, ensuring a supportive environment for both caregivers and clients.
3. This initiative aims to connect caregivers with reliable employers, facilitating a smoother transition into the Canadian workforce while providing clear access to permanent residency from day one.
Through this new pilot program, candidates interested in working in Canada’s home care sector, are eligible to apply if they fulfill following Requirements:
• obtain minimum level 4 based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB)
• hold the any equivalent of a Canadian high school diploma
• doesn’t need a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)
• lets you get the work experience you need to be eligible for permanent residence
• receive an offer from canada for a full-time home care job
If you recently worked as a home child care provider or support worker, your experience may count towards your eligibility for permanent residence.

Live-in Caregiver Program
The Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP) is closed to new applicants.
You can only apply for permanent residence through the Live-in Caregiver Training Program In Patiala (LCP) if you have at least 2 years of work experience in the program and:
• you’re already working in Canada with an LCP work permit, or
• you were approved for your first LCP work permit based on a Labour Market Impact Assessment submitted to Employment and Social Development Canada on or before November 30, 2014
If you have work experience in Canada as a caregiver but don’t qualify for either of the options above, you may be eligible to immigrate to Canada through a different program.
Temporary work for caregivers
If you don’t meet the requirements for permanent residence as a caregiver, you may be able to work temporarily.
